Steve was nominated by the local Care Commissioning Group (CCG) in 2019 for a National NHS Campaign to promote Chartered Physiotherapy and the First Contact Physiotherapy role in Primary Care.  This is a new role being introduced across the United Kingdom to provide specialist musculoskeletal knowledge, assessment and treatment of patients in GP surgeries without the need to see a GP first.

The NHS FCP role enables the ordering of blood tests, imaging and EMG testing to assists diagnostics and management of patients as well as streamline patient referrals to secondary care services such as orthopedics, rheumatology, chronic fatigue and neurological departments thereby improving the patient journey.

As an FCP, Steve provides musculoskeletal corticosteroid injections and is actively involved in COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination clinics.  Steve continues to perform his role as an NHS FCP alongside his private practice.
