          Hyaluronic Acid Injections

Hyaluronic acid is an effective, single injection alternative to steroid injections.  Hyaluronic acid is a molecule found naturally throughout the human body. It is an important component of joint fluid, called synovial fluid, which provides lubrication and cushioning for normal, healthy synovial joints.

 

It can also be used in tendon sheath issues to reduce inflammation and pain.

 

The main advantages of HA over steroid are a good quality Hyaluronic acid injections usually give relief for longer periods than steroid, typically lasting for up to 26 weeks and doesn’t weaken joints with repeated injections unlike steroid so can be repeated indefinitely.

OSTENIL PLUS contains a higher concentration of sodium hyaluronate, with the addition of mannitol. OSTENIL PLUS contains 40mg / 2ml sodium hyaluronate, plus mannitol, a free radical scavenger, which helps to stabilise the chains of sodium hyaluronate.
